Tamturi's Admiration Accepted "Amie"
A note from Amie's family...
Amie is wonderful, and we love her more each day. You taught her such great manners that it has been easy to have her in our home. Now that the snow is gone (well, at least at our altitude) we're finding that Amie is a bit of a wimp when it comes to heat. I guess it is the black fur coat that she wears all of the time. (Amie just put her face on my keyboard to write you a note -- ti hjnm xcbcv -- I don't know what that means, but I'm sure it is good wishes for you and your family). She makes us laugh every day (sometimes at her and sometimes with her). We can't wait to take her camping and hiking. I'm sure she'll be happy to see the snow again, even if it is a small patch in the mountains. We'll be sure to send some summer pictures! Last weekend was our first weekend away without Amie. We left her with a friend who lives in the mountains and who has a 10 month old Newfoundland puppy (that is twice her size already). Linda (the other one) has only had him for a few weeks, so she is still working with his socialization. Linda is so caring and patient -- with such a large dog (120 lbs) I guess you have no choice!!! The poor thing is a puppy mill rescue who needs some help learning how to play and just be a puppy. He gets obsessed with his shadow (a common thing for puppy mill dogs -- it is the only thing that they have to play with) and circles a lot because he is accustomed to confined spaces. His new home has a large fenced yard plus a large fence enclosed dog run (a necessity in an area where coyotes are common) with plenty of room, even for a dog his size. Amie taught him some fun games. They got along wonderfully, and Linda said that he learned a lot from her. She woke up to them playing doggie pattie-cake. They were quite the sight!
